Primeval Slip Ups go.com
We all know years of research go into making of any sci-fi and there is always a team of experts to advise the creators. Primeval TV Show being one of the most expensive and well received shows before it was cancelled was expected to fare well in this aspect. But almost in all episodes of Primeval, major goof-ups were made. I suspect that creators of the show believe that audiences are a bunch of morons who would gobble up every bit of crap served to them. Here are some of the major slip ups–
Gorgonopsid and Scutosaurus were not dinosaurs. They lived during the Permian era while dinosaurs appeared during the Triassic era. They were mammal-like reptiles that were ancestors of mammals.
Cutter was shown counting the ribs of the skeleton to determine its gender. However male and female human skeletons do not differ in their number of ribs. It’s just a myth which has its origin in The Bible.
In the first episode, Connor said that his website contained data on extinct vertebrates; however the data he had was regarding Arthropleura even though it was an invertebrate.
In the episode two of first series, if the spiders were so scared of light, why would they enter the brightly sparkling anomaly?
The high level of oxygen interfered with the functioning of soldiers’ guns yet it failed to affect Stephen’s brazing torch. Even more implausible was the wild flailing of highly-trained Special Forces upon encountering an ambush. After all, they are trained to handle such situations on a daily basis.
The dodos were depicted as fat and clumsy, as if due to overfeeding in captivity. The real wild dodos would have been a bit slimmer than shown in the show.
What would you do if pursued by a large winged predator? Don’t you agree that one would head for the nearby trees rather than staying out in the open? Anyway, Anurognathus ate only insects.
Last but not least, at one point Nick said that killing the creature from the future was permissible, because the past and the present won’t be affected. It implied that creatures from the past weren’t killed as it would have affected the past as well as the present. However, not just killing rather any interaction would affect the course of events.
